Referees:

Under the terms of our insurance cover, applicants from the UK must supply two references. The referees should be philatelic societies or traders, or a professional person such as a doctor, clergyman or schoolteacher (NOT a bank or building society as financial institutions only respond to other such organisations). This will also qualify the successful member access to the packet circuit. It is however possible to become a member without references, but the member will then not have access to the Packet Circuit

RENEWING MEMBERSHIPS

For existing members the annul renewal is due at the beginning of each year. Members in the UK can pay using a cheque drawn on a UK bank. However even more acceptable, as it reduces the administration workload of our Treasurer, is to use a Standing Order. If you want to set up a Standing Order then please print out and complete the mandate form to be found by clicking here.

Increase in administration charges

Please note, that with effect from the 1st January 2012, late membership renewals will be charged an additional £1.50 if submitted after 31st January. This is in line with our current rules and constitution

At the same time we have introduced paying membership 3 years in advance. We hope this will benefit our overseas members as it will keep their banking charges down, though it is of course open to everyone.

The advantage of this offer is also that members will be guarded against increases in membership fees as the increase will NOT be charged to those who have paid in advance

Please Note:

You must take the completed mandate form to your bank or building society. Please do NOT send it to the SPS. It is also possible to renew ones membership by BACS. Please contact the treasurer regarding bank details The reference required is your 4 digit SPS membership number. If you cannot remember this please email the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Once you have lodged the mandate with your bank please advise the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Members outside the UK can pay by sending the equivalent amount in US $ bills or Euro notes to:

Jeremy Hutchinson
Packet Circuit Secretary
32 Davies Drive
Bishops Cannings
Devizes
GB-SN10 2RL
United Kingdom

Please remember that we are charged commission on payments received by this means and, if you are willing to add a small additional payment to cover this, that would be welcome.
